1981 Partnered with Nassau Hospital (now Winthrop University LI NY) and the Chief of Surgery Dr. Ralph Ger. In the design and development and operation of the Hypothermia unit during the experimental procedures at NCMC, which was employed in the process called “Mucosal Destruction and Regeneration of the Colon & Rectum” As printed in Vol 29 No 3 of Diseases of the Colon & Rectum 1986.

 

Was one of the first to introduce Ultraviolet leak detection into HVAC/R industry. In 1987 I was contracting /consulting to Long Island manufacture which sold a refrigerant leak detection Freon in a one pound can for the automotive market. This was before the Clean Air Act went into effect (1 Jan 1989) I convinced the Manufacture to give me samples of the dye and in 1987 introduced the dye into leaking commercial and industrial  systems of A. Radichio Service Co. Test cases included Long Island lighting Co.(LILCO) Winthrop Hospital, A&P Stores, Manhasset Florist and many other locations. I designed a demonstration unit which was displayed in the 1989 American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) at the McCormick Place in Chicago. As the Application Engineer I fielded all the technical questions. The product has been a tremendous success and could be a billion dollar industry today.

 

Pipe Freezer patent issued 1-12-1982. The patent was licensed to a local manufacture where I worked as an independent Consultant. The patent received a Department of Energy grant to the manufacture.  I was appointed the lead engineer of the grant and filed reports to the DOE. I came up with a new patent which made the application of the Pipe freezer easy and efficient. I was the key person in setting up the production line and training all the personal. This product is sold under the Ridge tool name and has been sold Worldwide for over 20 years.
